4 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga itinerary:
This 4-day tour carries us from Marrakech to the Erg Chebbi desert. We will pass through all of southern Morocco’s multiple well-known landmarks on our route there For those interested in a safe, exciting trip filled with cultural immersion, the route through the desert is perfect. We will travel to southern Morocco, visiting important locales and entering the Sahara to appreciate all its diversity, civilization, and fauna—including camels. Day 1:Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Cinema Studios – Kasbah de Taourirt – Ouarzazate
Collected in a hotel at 9:00 in the morning and departure from Marrakech, crossing the mountains of the high Atlas through the Tizi port in Tichka (2,260m altitude), we will pass through interesting villages that live next to the mountains until we reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (declared Humanity Heritage by UNESCO in 1987), a fortified enclosure within a walled population that you will surely recognize, since this city has been the scene of such famous films as Gladiator, Sahara, Asterix and Obelix and Mission Cleopatra … etc have lunch on the site, then we will continue the tour to Ouarzazate, visiting the cinematographic studios where they were shot among other Harem films, Lawrence of Arabia, Banzai, Gladiator, Kundun, Hidalgo, Mission Cléopâtre (which left impressive decorations.), Jesus of Nazaret, the Kingdoms of Heaven, the mummy, Star Wars, the last temptation of Christ, etc. Arrival in Ouarzazate with the possibility of visiting another one of the Kasbah of Taourit for its importance, its architecture, and its decoration, it is one of the most beautiful in Morocco (classified historical monument). DAY 2:OUARZATE – MOUNTAINS OF THE ANTI ATLAS – AGD’Z – DRAA VALLEY – N’KOB – RISSANI – MERZOUGA
Today it’s time to travel to the desert crossing the second step that is Tizi N’tnifift at 1710m and the town of Ait Saoun, the Draa Valley is a very green river full of palm groves and is the largest in Morocco, Cross the whole country to Mauritania, we will make several stops to contemplate the beautiful adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the route, we will make a panoramic stop in the town of Agd’z where a lot of palm trees are seen from there we will go to the town of N’Kob a small and traditional Berber town, lunch on the site, then we will continue the trip Full of acacias trees until reaching the desert, with the possibility of leaving the materials in the safe hotel, and riding the camels that will take you to spend the night in Haima nomads. (An unforgettable night full of charm).
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Tinjdad – Tingher – Las Gargantas de Todra – Valle de Dades
in the morning It is advisable to get up early to walk to the highest dune around the camp to enjoy the magnificent sunrise, then we will return in dromedaries to the town of Merzouga. After a rich breakfast and shower, we have to say goodbye to the desert and leave for Rissani where we will visit their market (if it is one of the market days: Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday) we will follow the road to Erfoud where there is also the possibility of visiting the fossilized marble factory before continuing towards the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. One more hour we will reach one of the strongest points: the Todra Gorges. The Todra riverbed has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty, it is the paradise of climbers and a unique place. Lunch on site. Lunch on the site and a half-hour walk would be advisable to see and enjoy the throats in detail. In the afternoon we will continue towards the Dades Valley offers a variety of landscapes much larger than the Todra Valley, dinner, and night at the hotel.
Day 4:Valley of Dades – Valley of the Roses – Skoura – Alto Atlas – Marrakech
